ART AT DISTRICT DOUGHNUT

Hello friends! I'm very very excited to finally share this post. About a month ago one of my friends called and asked if I would be interested in doing some custom artwork for a new pop-up shop opening in Georgetown called District Doughnut. Uhhh YES! Hello dream come true. Art and food? Done. When I found out that Greg Menna, one of the owners, really enjoyed my abstracts (specially the ocean-inspired ones) and their colors were white and turquoise I knew this was going to turn out awesome.

I went into the shop right away to check out the space. It was long and narrow, very industrial and painted all white, with turquoise and dark wood counter tops. Super cool space. They told me I could have the entire back wall, and I was SO excited. Bryan and I went home and started building canvases right away. The largest one is 6.5x5.5 ft!! I love painting in large scale. Also, ALL PAINTINGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE! Woohoo!

They are located at 3327 Cady's Alley NW! If you are in Georgetown and want to try some insanely delicious doughnuts, need a cup of coffee, want to check out some local art or just want to check out the space, today is the day! They are officially open for business.

Coffee by a local DC company, Compass Coffee!

This is their Chocolate Creme Brulee doughnut that they torch in front of you to crystallize the sugar. What.

Fluffer Nutters. Peanut butter marshmallow goodness. Greg called this the Taylor Kampa doughnut because it looks like abstract art. Love it.

My helper! Love you Bryan.

THANK YOU EVERYONE AT DISTRICT DOUGHNUT FOR INCLUDING ME! (also for the doughnuts.)
